About the Breech Power Course
Building Knowledge, Skills & Confidence in Breech Birth Care
The Breech Power Course is an educational program designed to support healthcare professionals in developing the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to provide evidence-informed care for breech birth.
We bring together expertise from obstetrics, midwifery, neonatology, epidemiology, and related fields to provide accessible, practical education for practitioners who have breech birth within their scope of practice.
Our goal is to create opportunities for practitioners to learn from current evidence, experienced clinicians, and one another — both online and through hands-on, in-person training.
Our Purpose
Breech birth requires knowledge, preparation, practical skills, and a supportive clinical environment.
The Breech Power Course was developed to help practitioners strengthen these areas through education that combines current evidence with practical clinical experience.
We believe that education is most valuable when it helps practitioners translate knowledge into practice. Our courses therefore focus not only on what the evidence tells us, but also on developing the skills and confidence needed to respond to different breech birth situations.
We also recognize the importance of collaboration. Breech care involves practitioners from different professional backgrounds, and learning together can help build stronger communication, shared knowledge, and professional networks.
Who Is the Course For?
The Breech Power Course is intended for healthcare professionals who have breech birth within their scope of practice and who want to develop or strengthen their knowledge and skills.
This includes, among others:
Obstetricians
Family physicians
Midwives
Neonatologists
Nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in breech care
The course welcomes practitioners at different stages of experience — from those developing their foundational breech knowledge to experienced clinicians looking to refresh and expand their skills.
Our Approach
Evidence-Informed Education
We explore current research, evidence, and best practices from Canada and around the world.
Practical Skills
We believe that learning about breech birth should include opportunities to practise. Our in-person workshops incorporate simulation, video review, demonstrations, and hands-on skills training.
Interdisciplinary Learning
Breech birth care crosses professional boundaries. Bringing different practitioners together creates opportunities to share perspectives, experiences, and approaches.
Building Confidence
Knowledge and practical experience can help practitioners feel better prepared to recognize, assess, and respond to breech birth situations within their scope of practice.
Learning Together
The Breech Power Course is also about community. We aim to create supportive opportunities for practitioners to ask questions, share experiences, and build professional connections.
